FEBRUARY 2015

Things are getting scary across the globe.  Europe is following the same path it did prior to WWII, pretty much.   Maybe not.  But the wave of anti-muslim feeling continues to grow there.  I can't speak for anyone in Europe - I do hope that it's directed toward the asinine extremist terrorists.

I always loved the German word for that - "terroristen".  Those people are just crazy.  How can ANY devotion to a religion have you act that way?  I understand the Koran (I don't care how it's properly spelled at this point) is loaded with directives for antagonism against infidels and non-believers in Mohammed and Allah (or something like that).  There are the know-it-alls:  "well, the Bible does that, too"....

No, no, it really does not. You can take anything out of context. Or, out of the Old Testament. Show me where Jesus deliberately, explicitly said "yea, kill them", where it was not part of an illustrative fable He was preaching.

I am not bashing Islam - not at all. I am just pointing out that it has to be said - the words in their holiest book compel these people to savagely kill, destroy, and maim.

Yikes.

I am in awe of all of this.  And isn't the United States conveniently on the outside of this - for now? The last big scale attack was in Paris.  I believe Homeland Security HAS kept us safe. I do believe they have thwarted numerous attempts, here and in the UK, with their vigilance.

The Europeans, though - they are so vulnerable. And, with those very dangerously frail economies there - Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy.....I think bad times are ahead for all.

Well, the bittersweet, sad but rejuvenating song mixed from Tove Lo's hit is good therapy for this anxiety.  The synth tones are comforting to me - and very pleasing.  I do like quite a bit of EDM/techno that I hear (but definitely not a lot of it, which could be boring).

Recently, I have finally made time to get into Godsmack's new album (released many months ago) and Mastodon's new album (also released probably early autumn 2014).  Both are pretty good!  I have been enjoying both, and they will spawn a few hits, that is foe show!

So, no movement this month, except the Chainsmokers taking the top spot, and the still powerful but fading "Top Notch" slipping to #2.  There are a lot of good songs I've been checking out lately. Who knows which will bust into the Top 5!?!

Well, here we go, for this month:
