My Top 5 Songs

Very late this month.  I have been so busy with my job, which has me underpaid and with expectations beyond my job title.  It figures. Worst part is that all the time I spent getting through graduate school is all for not.  I will never use any of that in this stupid admin job that I have. I barely remember "Hard Sun" by Eddie Vedder.  I am listening to it now because after typing in that song title (for the 2008 chart, below), I was puzzled. I think I remember it, but vaguely. Another new year.   I am...indifferent.  I just don't emote much - I don't get excited, nor dejected. I just go with the flow.  I miss having EMOTION - being angry, happy, jubilant, or downcast - either a positive or negative emotion.  It doesn't matter - that was LIFE. I'm slowing down in my old age. haha. I'm sorry the song "Bear Hands" did not last long in the Top 5. I hope I don't forget it forever and never revisit the song. The new entry this month is one of those flukes:  a song from an artist I normally wouldn't like too much...but for whatever reason, I heard a song by chance, on a day I was more receptive to dance music, and it stuck in my head.  I love the Chainsmokers Remix of "Habits".  I checked out other songs by Tove Lo, the Swedish pop star.  She's OK, but it is just not my cup of tea. Is 2011 flying along or what? Father Time is in a hurry to usher us all to our demise in 2012, I suppose. ha. I have to minimize the negativity in my life. I've realized that for many, many years, I've been a little hard on myself - all this negativity isn't TOTALLY due to myself. It has a lot to do with other people. For some reason, I gravitate to negativity and negative people. So in a way, it's my doing, but sometimes you can't help but be affected by the negativity that spews from people you have to associate with. That's a very simplified explanation. What an interesting month for the Top 5! TWO new entries - how refreshing! Adele kicked butt but her songs are waning. Very respectable for her. BLONDIE is back with their best album since their reunion (well, thats not sayin much). They still have a bit of fluff on the new CD, but the songs arent bad.
