My Top 5 Songs

Dog days of summer.  Or dog daze...life churns on. People are dying.  Uncles, aunts, a cousin or two, and loved ones of acquaintances.  It's sad.  People move on, things change, but not really.   And slowly, you are displaced.  You become older, the generation of yesterday. Your zeal wears thin. That "energy" is hard to come by at times.  Your passions - weak.  Your lust for life - gone. Or maybe I just feel this way because I am listening to the song from The War on Drugs.  In a way, its a sad song.  I have no idea - when do I ever pay attention to lyrics anymore.  I just like sounds, effects, mood.  What is he even singing about. Late again this month.  Was just tied up with this nightmare class. It finished, but I have to complete some work to get a grade.   So my freedom is delayed for a bit. I am looking forward to it, but not really.  I am strangely depressed, and can't stand most people around me. Mastodon with another #1, way more than a year since I first got that album.  Borgeous is still hanging on for the tenth week!  The Church bows out of the top spot, but what a run for that song.   I love all these songs, and I love charting them for the future.  Wow - ten years ago was 2006.  A decade seems like...a couple years ago. Is 2011 flying along or what? Father Time is in a hurry to usher us all to our demise in 2012, I suppose. ha. I have to minimize the negativity in my life. I've realized that for many, many years, I've been a little hard on myself - all this negativity isn't TOTALLY due to myself. It has a lot to do with other people. For some reason, I gravitate to negativity and negative people. So in a way, it's my doing, but sometimes you can't help but be affected by the negativity that spews from people you have to associate with. That's a very simplified explanation. What an interesting month for the Top 5! TWO new entries - how refreshing! Adele kicked butt but her songs are waning. Very respectable for her. BLONDIE is back with their best album since their reunion (well, thats not sayin much). They still have a bit of fluff on the new CD, but the songs arent bad.
