JANUARY 2016

Well, this month, I am on time, for once.  (warning - there may be objectionable language below)... Christmas just sucks. I can't stand a sibling of mine, who just wrecks the joy with his pompous attitude. We are middle aged, mind you - but he has been this way his whole life. Can you imagine being yelled at by someone who is irritated at something you said, that they do not agree with? If this were the way he was, fine...but it's NOT - he is just like that to his family, but probably very nice to everyone else.  I guess he is really a total pussy. What - is this guy in elementary school?  Because that is what he sounds like - and everyone let's him get away with it.  It's basically bullying - and it's disarming, and embarrassing.  I want to tell him to fuck off, and that he is a ridiculous asshole who acts this way because he feels we are all weaker than he, but can't be this way towards others.   I really hate people like this - I mean, you know so...

JANUARY 2015

Another new year.   I am...indifferent.  I just don't emote much - I don't get excited, nor dejected. I just go with the flow.  I miss having EMOTION - being angry, happy, jubilant, or downcast - either a positive or negative emotion.  It doesn't matter - that was LIFE. I'm slowing down in my old age. haha. I'm sorry the song "Bear Hands" did not last long in the Top 5. I hope I don't forget it forever and never revisit the song. The new entry this month is one of those flukes:  a song from an artist I normally wouldn't like too much...but for whatever reason, I heard a song by chance, on a day I was more receptive to dance music, and it stuck in my head.  I love the Chainsmokers Remix of "Habits".  I checked out other songs by Tove Lo, the Swedish pop star.  She's OK, but it is just not my cup of tea. "Splice" is just an intoxicatingly beautiful song. There is not much else to say that I stated last month.  Geoff ...

JANUARY 2013

A new year. A new start. A fresh attitude. Over the years, I've realized that it wasn't just me - a lot of people take that "clean slate - start anew" strategy.  I always thought I was the only one that had to "start over", as if everything up to then was a total failure. Well, here we go - a new year. Can I keep up the resolutions  - to distance myself from negativity? to get in great shape and feel good? to finally be able to play guitar better? Speaking of which - although I don't put as much time into it as I should, I am getting better at guitar. I hope to finally excel at it this year. And, in just days - graduate school starts.  Yikes. Say goodbye to a good night's sleep for the next 3 years, I guess. My escape is, and always will be...music.  Read on, if you dare.... The very beautiful song by this band called Echo and Drake sits at the top. It's a strange thing when you love a song by a band that you know nothing about.  These...
