MAY 2015
Late this month posting - school has kept me busy. The class ended this week, and I hope to get an A - we'll see. I have 10 days of freedom until my accelerated pace summer class (2 months instead of 4!) commences.
In good spirits lately. The warm weather has me kicking butt on the hills on my bike. The gears are a mess, though - I really have to learn how to fine tune them. The chain locks up at times, going up steep hills.
I saw Mastodon, with Clutch and The Graveyard a couple weeks ago. I really enjoyed Mastodon a great deal! I did my head banging and acting so not my age (jumping up and down) but I don't care - I waited months for this after getting into this band last January. I have three of their albums, now, and will probably get 'em all. The other two bands were OK. I was not fully impressed with Clutch, partly because I do not know their songs. Most people there were for Clutch.
I hope to see Godsmack at a music festival in Baltimore next September. They did not even come anywhere near my area. The event in Baltimore will have Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots, Anthraxx, Chevelle, and others...
I KNOW! THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I so wanna go.
I also would like to see the Rolling Stones in about a month. I hadn't yet bought tickets, yet - they are almost $100....but it IS the Rolling Stones. I do like their body of work much more than the Beatles, actually. I do not know if I should spend the money to go.
What the...??? Yep, that is Mastodon at #1 AND at #4 with the very cool "Aunt Lisa" (warning, fould language in that song!). Also, Godsmack finally got into the top 5 with a song from their last album. Tove Lo is hanging in there with that cool mix of her song.
A year ago, Alice in Chains had the top 2 spots. I love them.
And, ten years ago, The Church had two spots in the top 5. They never really went away, having released maybe 4 albums since then - I love that band but haven't listened to ANY of those albums. The most recent was 2014, too! I gotta check them out.
I'm looking forward to the summer time, and bike riding, playing music, doing the drum circle, and, heaven forbid, maybe making friends!
Just three more classes - by this time next year, I will be DONE with school!
