Very hate this month...next week another installment of the Top 5 Songs will be due! Its OK, its fun for a couple reasons - I am REALLY, REALLY enjoying "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here". As you can see, AIC has TWO songs now and they may go 3 for 5 by this time next week!
It's a very enjoyable album. Like I mentioned before, upon first listen, I was not moved in any way, shape or form!
This year is going along OK. My mental healing continues. I have a bout of depression now and then, and they have gotten a bit worse, but I attribute it to stress, and the winter. I have been very busy with school (this current class sucks), and pursing acting opportunities. Since January, I have auditioned for at least 4 things, which includes some theater companies. And...so far I'm shut out.
It's frustrating. I'm a decent actor, but I think its my 'look', first and foremost. I don't really have a 'look', so people don't know what to do with me exactly. That's neither here nor there at this point. So I continue to pin my hopes for acting on the comedy theaters in town, where I do some improv stuff and take classes.
It's not my thing, really. But its part of a community, which is a big deal for me since I've been lost and pretty lonely most of my life. So now here's this place with quirky people who are funny, and possibly self-conscious, so not judgmental of others...or one would think. Some of them seem to be snobs - or, they are like the general population. I decided to not care and enjoy myself and do what I want, with no regard to how others perceive me. Tough cookies. Well, sometimes, I fall back into that old habit, but I've come a long way to just be myself and not feel I have to TRY to get someone to like me.
Work sucks most of the time. That is the last I wanna say about that.
MORRISSEY!!! He is touring the United States this spring! I might go to a show on the east coast.
Alice in Chains is #1 this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not going to comment or dwell on any comparisons between Layne Staley and the current singer. I'm sick of the debate on youtube or other places where I've heard it. I'll just mention that I did cry when I heard of Layne Staley's passing, and the fact that he died alone of a drug overdose. Of course I didn't know the guy, but it tore me up. That's when I realized how much I really thought of the music of Alice in Chains.
