August, 2009

It's been a rough summer on a number of levels. I've been unemployed for several months now. I'm working a pretty crappy temp job. My personal relationships are suffering because they just arent working out for me. I feel I'm taken advantage of, or in the least, not really valued by certain people.

But alas, the world of music! It's my savior.

Here it is, for August, 2009...also with the chart from a year ago, from a decade ago, and from 1996. I include 1996 because that is when I started doing this and I want to document it in a blog so I can trash the note cards I've kept for 13+ years!

It's fascinating to me to see what I was really into so long ago! I mean - "psychic hearts" in 1996 - that brings back some memories of a girl I really liked. My life could be worse- I could have married that annoying wench! Last year I really enjoyed the legendary Bauhaus' last album. They are the grandfathers of goth, and one of my favorite bands. Some of their original stuff (from the album "Mask", for example) is just creepy. Freaking love it and loved seeing Bauhaus at a college auditorium in Maryland a few years back.

The song title is followed by group name.
The first digit is the previous ranking.
The second one is the highest rank attained,
and the third digit is the total number of weeks in the top 5.
